My Forever Home.
Sweet Homes, Forever Home Community
I had the pleasure of visiting a friend in the Dallas metroplex, where I marveled at her beautiful forever home. It brought back memories of a college friend whose parents found their forever home on a lake in Maryland. Inspired by these experiences, I have decided that it’s time to start planning for our own mortgage-free forever home.
My dream is to find a peaceful town near water, not too far from the city and the airport, where severe winter weather is rare. With retirement just around the corner, we are excited to put our forever-home plan into action. While we work towards this long-term goal, we envision our new home as a weekend fixer-upper, a quick getaway, and a cozy snowbird retreat. That’s where you come in – we would love to hear your suggestions on potential locations!
We are fortunate to be able to make our dream of a mortgage-free forever home a reality. It has taken a dedicated effort to save and plan for this moment, which unfortunately is not a common practice. Surprisingly, 75% of Americans lack long-term financial planning. If you find yourself in this situation, I urge you to reevaluate your plan or consider seeking assistance.
Even if a forever home is not your desire, I believe everyone has dreams. If you struggle to look beyond the present and plan for your financial future, there are resources available to help you. As a first step, I recommend tracking your spending either manually or through a helpful app. Tracking and having a spending plan are topics discussed in the “Millionaire Educator” seminar. By doing so, you can gain a clear snapshot of your spending habits and identify areas where adjustments can be made.
Now, let’s dream big together! Imagine a group of individuals, both singles and couples, discovering a charming town that may be in need of revitalization. In this vision, people embrace the challenge of purchasing old and sometimes run-down homes, transforming them to fit their unique lifestyles. By working together, we can build a vibrant and thriving community.
Residents of our community can pursue their dreams of owning shops, galleries, studios, or eateries. Alternatively, they can simply enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and take time to unwind. In our vision, we gather for activities like golf, tennis, biking, pickleball, game nights filled with bid whiz and bridge, and various water activities. We come together for movies, book clubs, celebrations, cocktails, and even embark on world travels. Laughter is a constant companion, and we provide ongoing support to ensure that everyone in our neighborhood lives life to the fullest.
So, let’s explore the possibilities and make our dreams of forever homes a reality. Together, we can create a community that embraces the beauty of life and supports one another on this incredible journey.

My forever home is in a community of forever friends. Are you in?

Also, if I cannot have a beach a perfect pool/spa will do just fine!
By the way, now is a great time to start teaching family members about long-term planning and building their financial future. Forever occurs on a continual basis. JackieTrust!
I’m in. This is great.
Great I am signing you up!
Very nice. you already had my answer years ago!
I LOVE this idea and will be the first to sign on the dotted line. Like you, I must have water and an airport nearby for quick getaways. I have always dreamed of being in a retirement community with like-minded individuals who share common interests and hobbies, but the idea of creating a community where the residents own shops and restaurants really takes it up a notch. It’s so important that we take care of each other as we age and who better than other like-minded individuals around you? One thing this coronavirus pandemic has made me realize is how much money I’ve been saving now that I’m no longer buying NYC lunches and Starbucks everyday. I’ve always been a saver, but now I’m stepping up my savings game to make my forever home and bake shop that I’d love to own a reality. As far as locations are concerned a few come to mind: Myrtle Beach, San Diego (or any small town in Cali near water), Charleston, and Costa Rico (I’ve been hearing more and more is a great place to retire).
So, let’s get started!
Today is the day that confirms for me that now more than ever I need to do this…I am still interested in South Georgia..Please read the following…Worth considering..Sapelo is home of a community of some of the original descendent of the West African slave trade. The Gullah/Geechees.
